Hangin In There...

Wow, I didn't realize how long it has been since I have blogged, so I thought even though it is way passed my bed time, that I would take a few minutes and update. The enemy has been trying to do his magic by keeping us home sick, and believe me we have all had our turns. However we keep praying to our heavenly Father and trust that he is providing for us and helping us each get through our days!! Thank you Lord!

Even though we may not all feel great, I still try to get out as much as possible and do fun things with the kids. It seems as though these days fly by and before I know it, 3-4 days have passed and I have been no where. I had my best friend take some fall pics of the girls for me and they turned out wonderful. We have been going on walks (thank you Lord for such awesome weather!), going to the parks, having picnics outside, shopping (aka: buying groceries), piano lessons, dates with dad, rearranging furniture, book sales, school functions...you get the picture!

As you can see, each of the girls have some special time with daddy when they can snag him. It is hard to find time with him because of the hours he works and different sleeping times everyday, but we do our best. He is very tired these days, but somehow he always seems to be able to keep a smile on his face and an optimistic view on life! We love him so much and our family would not be complete without him in it!!!

Okay, so that's all the time I'm wasting on updating this blog! Hopefully I can update more often then I have, but beings this is the "busy" time of year for us coming up...who knows!!?!?!?!?!

Just a typical, not-so-ordinary day!!!

JUST A TYPICAL, NOT-SO-ORDINARY DAY!!!!!!!!!

So before I begin this heart felt, self pitiful, simply 'silly' story, I have to tell you about a couple of things that have lead up to today. My oldest twin, Harlee, has figured out how to take her diaper off and she loves doing it. As it would go, if I don't have clothes to put on her right away, then the diaper is off within 5 seconds. NO JOKE!!

She will often put her hand over herself like she is about to go pee, so I obviously try to get a diaper on her as quick as possible before I have a huge mess to clean up. She will also stand up in the bathtub and do the same thing and a couple of times I have gotten her out of the tub, put on a diaper and sure enough within minutes, she has filled the diaper.
Something else I should tell you, is that Kylie's asthma has kicked up again, so she has been on treatments for about 3 days now.
SO..................Here's the story of today.............
As I was minding my own business, sleeping peacefully in my comfy bed, I was distractingly awoke by Harlee crying at 3:30am. This is nothing new for us, it seems to be our "bonding" time that she likes so much! (I have to admit it is nice to just sit and rock them at this age and if I have to do it at 3:30 in the morning, then so be it!!) I get her to sleep and go back to bed, although for some reason I toss and turn and it takes me forever to fall asleep again.
At 5:30am I am awoke by Kylie coming up the stairs and plopping on my bed saying, "I'm coughing so bad mom" so I scrounge myself out of bed again and we make our way down the stairs to start her on breathing treatments. So I knew at this point there was no way I was going back to bed so I waited for Jaylie (the little girl I babysit) to show up and then I hopped into the shower thinking "wow this is going to be a good day to get things done"!
I felt awesomely (is that a word?) good and decided to go all out and make pancakes for breakfast (yes we are cereal eaters most days). My husband, Kylie and I manage to somehow wake Jaylie up and she wasn't too happy with us and her cute little loud cry, along with our loud voices, woke Shyann and Harlee up. Rowdy gets Kylie to school and comes back to the house for a while. We have some pancakes and the kids are all playing happy together. Here's where it gets interesting. Rowdy is going to go help a friend work on his house, and as he is almost out the door, we both notice Shyann has a spot on her pajamas and it smelt like pee. So I laid her down and took off her pj's and diaper. Of course Harlee saw what I've done, so she undoubtedly wants her diaper off too. (she even came over right in front of me and laid down!!) Then they go to the window to wave bye bye to daddy.I automatically jump up and head for the diapers and clothes, but the camera caught my eye, so like any good mother, I grabbed it and snapped this beautiful picture! I then go grab some clothes and the whole time in my mind I'm thinking "hurry cause Harlee is going to pee everywhere." I whisk Harlee up, chuckling with her that she didn't have a chance to pee and make a big mess, while headed for the changing table. While I am in the midst of getting Harlee diapered, Shyann starts whining and walks in holding her hand out and wouldn't you know it....SHYANN had pooped on her little step stool! It was smeared all down her legs, her side and all over her hand. I quickly put Harlee down and started cleaning up Shyann, which I knew by this time that she was going to need a bath so I headed that way. Along our journey I noticed little droppings leading all the way back to where the big prize was!! I didn't know what to clean up first, Shyann or my carpet?!? So I put Shyan down, pick up Jaylie and put her in the playpen with some toys, grab some paper towels to clean up the nasty mess, then grab Shyann and head to the bathtub. It was then I realized I haven't seen Harlee since I put her down from the changing table. Then I remembered I hadn't gotten her clothes on her, just her diaper!!!!
So I tell my 'now crying' little girl to just stand still and momma will be right back and not to touch anything!! (we all say that right!?!) I go looking for Harlee who I find sitting in my kitchen cabinet naked and in a pool of pee! So as it turns out, I am glad I got woke up early to get things done, just not the things that I was hoping for!! Life with twins :)

Summer Fun!!!!

We are having a great summer so far and I hate to think that school starts in 5 weeks. We have been busy swimming in our pool, playing at the park, playing outside, going to sonic, and hanging out as a family!! Kylie is at church camp this week and making many memories I'm sure and growing in her spiritual life as well! We miss her around here, and can't wait for her to come home!
I took the girls to the park one night last week and it was a "sand" park. They have never been around sand before so it was interesting to watch their reactions to it. Harlee dove right in and was picking it up and scooping it and so happy, Shyann wasn't so sure about it. She didn't like it on her hands at all and really didn't want her shoes off, but she eventually liked walking around in it. I think it was the first time that I took the twins to the park all by myself and I was a nervous wreck. Although anyone watching me out their livingroom window were getting a pretty funny show. I was running around chasing the two trying to not let one fall off the ledge while the other is going down the slide, it was exhausting!!

Here is big sis sitting on the porch out front. We had breakfast outside that morning and played in our pajamas for most of the day!! I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!!

Twins checking out their new slide! They love it and can do it all by myselves!

I thought that this was just a cute picture!!

Mom - The Best Job Ever!!!!

I LOVE MY KIDS!!!!!
I know that every good mother thinks that their children are the best thing that ever happened to them. Of course, I am no exception to that thought!! My kids are my life and I try everyday to see the joy that they are bringing to me, and I thank God for choosing me to raise HIS beautiful children. As a mom with a to-do list longer than Santa's, I get so wrapped up in what needs to get done that I often forget to capture the moments that will mean the most to me later when their all grown up. So far our summer has been full of fun-filled days and is already going way too fast. I actually had time tonight to download some pictures, so I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do!!

On this particular morning, the girls wanted to play in the crib, so I put them both in and they had so much fun falling down and rolling ontop of eachother. I just think this is a cute picture to share with you!!

Today we went on a walk and when we got back to the house, the girls wanted to play outside, their favorite thing to do, and I was able to capture a few pictures in between chasing them all over. Of course they always have to go in two different directions when we are outside, so I don't get to just sit and watch. I'm constantly chasing after them!!!!! This picture shows that Harlee loves the dogs and is not afraid to get close to them, but Shyann is still a little hesitant so she stands back a ways. Twins....Two babies....Two totally different personalities!!!!!

Shyann playing in the wagon!!!

Harlee playing in the rocks!!!

I've probably said before that Shyann's favorite thing to do (besides eat) is to dance. She LOVES to dance and everytime their is a song on, she starts moving. So I was able to catch her dancing to her Praise Baby video and I think she has a chance at 'America's Got Talent'!!! What do you think??

I just wanted to give you all a glimpse at how the twins play together. Most of the time, Shyann finds something she wants to play with and Harlee will catch up to her and decide she wants it too. That is what happens in this next video. Shyann usually won't throw too much of a fit, although today I did catch her fighting for a Winnie The Pooh puppet that she first. It was kinda funny, but then I had to be a mom and start the teaching of life lessons to them!

Kylie and I started out the summer by going to a semi-pro baseball game in Wichita with our church. We had a lot of fun together and it was so nice to just spend time with just her! My mom came and stayed with the babies so I could go with Kylie and I'm so thankful I was able to get out of the house and do something fun with Kylie. She is such a bright young lady and I can't wait to see what her future holds for her!! "God please help me in directing her in the right path!!!"

This is the mascot 'Spinner' for the baseball team and Kylie is standing right beside him getting her baseball glove signed. She is so proud to have gotten his autograph!

Last week at my mom and dad's they started the renovation process of their kitchen, so like papa like granddaughter, Kylie jumped in and helped him all afternoon. Here she is starting to put a hole in this wall to tear it down. She was such a great helper to papa and she loved the demolition. She may take Ty's place on the show 'Extreme Home Makeover'!!!

Here she is holding up a big piece of sheet rock that she tore down all by herself. Like I said before, she had a blast!! I will get more pictures posted of her out in the pool sometime later. But for now...tah tah!!!

Kylie's Piano Recital
Kylie started piano lessons last November and has done an amazing job learning how to play. She is always looking forward to her lessons, has a wonderful teacher and I never have to argue to get her to practice! This is her very first recital, she had two songs to play and did amazing!!! She was a little nervous, but with God by her side, she stayed calm and played very well! Good job Kylie Ann we are so proud of you!!!
